The lovely Leticia Del Arco, stylist for Brisbane based label, 'Talulah' contacted me early last week with a proposition to feature 'Metallic Dreamer' alongside the latest Talulah lookbook and campaign.

I've just been contacted by an incredible photographer, Cam Hammond to style a range of submissions he is planning early this year.

I usually, quite quickly skip over emails that are sent from networking sites as the amount of talented fashion industry professionals is SLIM.

But... Cam Hammond is incredible. His photography is positively smouldering. Oozing perfect form, contrast, tone and mood. His images look like they belong on the pages of Russh with their glazed, smoky and feminine rinses and beautiful, strong models.

Big things for this part time photographer (yes, that's right - part time... photography isn't even his main focus).

Scott Schuman is a man of great talent to which i have followed for 2 or so years now.

He is a worldy man, full of amazing stories and with images to boot. His pride of work serves as a testament to time and a snapshot of the way fashion really plays out on the streets... not just diluted fashion faux pas we see in some fashion mags.

He is real, very picky about whom he shoots and an absolute charm! Meeting him tonight was lovely :)

So i had a fabulous day in Sydney town today. First, a great day @ work for Sass & Bide mainly due to the banana i devoured at 8am (ultra energised :)

Secondly a wonderful visit to my friend Emrys's where i found these amazing images in an old fashion magazine... and thirdly (my post next in line) i met 'The Sartorialist' at his new book signing at Sass & Bide on Oxford Street. Working for the company helped me and the girls get in before the rush!

I just love the images in his new book, but more in next post... hehe.

I do love a bit of colour here and there, but ideally this is where i would like fashion to stay forever (or at least for another few seasons) :)

I do think it is adorable to see a little kidlet wearing clothing that is worth more than they would earn in the next 15 years of their lives... however there is such a fine line that can be crossed where these tiny bundles of joy are exposed to a world which requires maturity and humility. So i have been interning @ Grazia Mag Australia and i am having a blast... scouring through racks and racks of clothing, footwear, accessories and props from all the crazy photo shoots created by the wonderful Fashion Director, Mark Vasallo; assistant Fashion Director, Peter Simon Phillips and 'flat lay' styling by the gorgeous Anouk Collantoni & Louise Cavanough.

We are summoned to return all stock back to PR agencies and fashion houses around Australia and to tape shoes ready for the photo shoots.

The fabulous interns are so essential in keeping the Mag on it's feet as we fix up all the 'paperwork' (ie lost stock, returns, cleaning garments etc).

You need to be very dedicated and as i do 2 days per week even more so!

I am excited to say that since starting my internship 2 weeks ago, i have already shown the Accessories Editor, Lousie Cavanough my collection and she will be shooting them 'flat lay' tomorrow!

'Flat Lay' just to fill you in (if you didn't know) is when a garment/accessory is photographed on a flat white background in a photographic studio without a model. In the glossy mags you will see many 'flat lay' images scattered throughout!

Fingers crossed my accessories will feature in a future issue of Grazia Mag :)

Kudos to head designer Alber Albaz for such a breakthrough collection. The show featured 52 of the worlds best models, of course including my girl crush Abbey Lee Kershaw!

Oh Abbey... you've done it again. I love Dazed & Confused at the best of times, but when you combine Abbey Lee Kershaw with this already in demand publication it is a MUST HAVE!

This issue of Dazed was by far the best i have paid $19.95 imported from London to the local newsagency!

With her 'Dazed and ... seemingly confused eyes' she emits this incredible sense of 'cool' and 'chic'.

I would definitely sell my soul for a bit of Abbey Lee Kershaw 'tude'.

'When French couturier Pierre Balmain founded his house in 1945, he, Christian Dior, and Cristobal Balenciaga were the design giants responsible for reenergizing lavish couture dressing after World War II. Balmain’s elegant, super-feminine looks were favorites among European royalty and Hollywood fashion plates like Marlene Dietrich, Katharine Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot, and Sophia Loren. Since Balmain’s death in 1982, the glory days have dwindled. His assistant, Erik Mortensen, took over until 1990, and two years later, Oscar de la Renta joined the house. De la Renta designed Balmain couture from 1993 to 2002, and Laurent Mercier took over in 2003. But the house soon fell into financial hard times and was forced to file for bankruptcy. Investors revived Balmain in 2005, and brought on designer Christophe Decarnin, fresh from a decade's work at Paco Rabanne. And for a label that was once known for ultraelegant evening attire with a draping and pleating focus, Decarnin's appointment took it toward tough-chic, thigh-grazing, body-skimming looks—a sensibility that embraces the quintessential trendsetting French party-girl. I lay on my blue suede couch most nights blogging away, whilst also thinking of all the wonderful pieces i want to create! I spoke of creating a 'colour burst' collection for Metallic Dreamer... but somehow have steered very clear of it, opting for the always popular black on black, bronze on black and silver on black combos!

I know it's a little overdone, but i just love the deep, dark beauty of a black accessory featuring beautiful ostrich feathers, black velvet, studs, brooches etc...

Stay tuned for images of great styling pieces i have created recently that match perfectly with your LBD or white tee and cut offs!

Everything i create is to be layered with your existing outfit... not like a necklace... but more of the main focus of your layering i.e white t-shirt, Metallic Dreamer neck piece, denim cut off shorts, ankle boots & tuxedo jacket.

A cool customer at work today introduced me to a new brand of footwear... Alfredo Bannister!

These beautiful shoes appear to tell a lot of stories, are pre-loved without ever being worn, distressed and torn but never by a foot... Alfredo is no longer a pasta in my mind, i will always think of gorgeous shoes ;)

When on my lunch break today i began thinking about personal styles and the beautiful array of ladies and gents doing their thang around Bondi.

Now my personal style involves a love of all things raw, ruined, deconstructed, odd, warn, torn, loved... this is evident in my choices for posts!

I adore OP shop finds as i believe vintage tells a story leaving new fashions with no history for dead. I believe in individuality in all its forms... i praise the hippies, worship the goths and LOVE the bohemes.

So what is your style? In this modern day where everything goes... is there any one way to describe your personal style and choice of presentation?

I woke up this morning having had a dream about all the wonderful 'styling pieces' i want to create and i started thinking... 'How will i work all of my ideas in together to create a strong, fluent collection different to all others?'
I realised i love black on black, but know this bland combination won't be chic forever... So have decided to create a colour burst collection!!! Keep your eyes peeled and get ready for some serious layering through Summer :)
